Buckinghamshire Neurological Alliance

Buckinghamshire Neurological Alliance has now closed.

We would like to thank all of our members who supported Buckinghamshire Neurological Alliance (BNA) over the last seven years and local health and social care agencies who worked with us to improve the quality of life for all people who have a neurological condition, their partners and families living in Buckinghamshire. During this time BNA, as a Regional Neurological Alliance was affiliated to the Neurological Alliance and shared the aims and objectives of the Neurological Alliance. BNA's members contributed to the evidence gathering process for the National Service Framework for Long Term (Neurological) Conditions (NSF-LTnC); participated in focus groups run by the Neurological Alliance and, together with local health and social care agencies held seminars about the NSF-LTnC. The NSF-LTnC sets out 11 Quality Requirements (QRs) and BNA's members participated in the local Review Groups for Quality Requirements 4, 5, 6 (acute, community and vocational rehabilitation, respectively) and Quality Requirement 10 for carers. BNA also represented its members on the NSF-LTnC Local Implementation Group and the South Central Health Authority's Neuro Network. Sadly, without more help and support it was no longer possible to build on our activities above and the last meeting of BNA was held on 7th November, 2008. Buckinghamshire Neurological Alliance unites local groups, individuals and organisations concerned with neurological conditions.  Together we work to improve the quality of life for all people with a neurological condition, their partners and families living in Buckinghamshire.
